Everyday Cooking Adventures’ Crescent Roll Pigs in a Blanket

This is a quick and fun lunch item for us but it is also a great substitute for the frozen pigs in a blanket. Why not make your own?! These are perfect finger foods and would be great for Game Day or a cocktail party. They are fast to throw together and addictive. I promise you can’t eat just one! Here are my mini hot dogs:

Crescent Roll Pigs in a Blanket

Recipe by: Everyday Cooking Adventures, 2014
Serves: 2
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 4 – 6 crescent rolls
  • 2 – 3 hot dogs (or small sausages)
  • 3 Tbsp. shredded cheddar cheese
  • ketchup and mustard
  • Optional: relish
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Roll out crescent rolls onto a non-stick or lightly greased baking sheet or jelly roll pan.

2. Slice hot dogs in half and place one half on top of the crescent roll at the long end (opposite the tip of the triangle). Sprinkle with about a 1/2 tablespoon of the cheddar cheese. Roll up starting with the wide end up to the tip.

3. Bake for 10-12 minutes until browned but not burnt. Serve alongside condiments of ketchup, spicy mustard and relish as desired.
